introducing cpshop 1.4a

Well, this is just a maintenance release, fixing today's CafePress page change, and patching a couple of bugs.

The biggest news is that I've put together a rudimentary downloading system. It should improve things, I hope. Let me know if you have any problems with it.

changes in cpshop 1.4a

  • fixed CafePress page format change
  • fixed multiple template/Windows bug
  • fixed missing thumbnail sorting option
If you haven't already installed cpshop, use the contents of cpshop1.4a-full.zip to do so. If you have installed it...

how to upgrade

  1. Unzip the contents of cpshop1.4a-update.zip. Be sure you use the "update" zip file -- and NOT the "full" zip file -- to upgrade!
  2. Upload the contents of the zip file to the cpshop directory on your server.
  3. Go to your admin screen, and clear your cpshop cpcache. (Check the "Empty Cache" checkbox and save your changes.)
  4. If you haven't already created a sub-directory called "cplogs", do it now, and make it writable (usually with "chmod 777 cplogs").
  5. Test your store.

the last word(s)

I got a lot of suggestions for how to streamline the file distribution system, and hopefully this method will live up to your expectations.

My dragonboating team did much better than expected at the festival. We ended up placing 2nd in the "Rec A" division; that places us among pretty elite competition. (If we'd won in the finals, we'd have beaten the No. 3 rec team in the nation.) Considering that we'd never even qualified for the Rec. A division before, we're pretty happy with our showing. Apparently we're a much better team than last year. Now we get to prepare for the last major event of the year for us, the races at Lake Merced in San Francisco!

And now it looks like I'm going to be moving during the month of October. It's coming a lot sooner than expected.

As always, let me know if you have any problems with this, either via or posting on the message board.

Regards, Marty
